Have fun!
[by perO - 9 Feb 06]

In generala I'm not really interested in the Olympic Games, in fact I'm not partecipating in any event related to Turin 2006, even tough I live in Turin; and not for any particular reason, just cause I'm not affected by the olympic spirit itself. But today I've been touched, I have to say. TOday the Flame passed by house, and seeind the "New Turin" on party, with the works finally finished, the people on the streets, the kids with the flags, the policemen smiling and chatting and the old men happy once in a lifetima, well it all made me change my mind. Or at least it made me understand wich "party" to be with
The Olimpiad's a big party, and I can't understand that somebody wants to stop it, that the protests are going on, or that other affairs (like the TAV, tha Coca Cola) are interfering with this celebration, just making polemics in any case. How can you stop such a great celebration? And today only I understand the opportunity that this Games are for my city, Turin, that can finally make the most of it and be a beatiful tourists place, and not only that "Fiat cars town".

The Olympic Games are a great party, let's enjoy it!

Not only sport
[by Dontyna - 7 Feb 06]

Logo ItalyartOne of the reason that brought most of the people of Turin (and the Italians in general) to purchase the tickets for the olympic races, you know, is part the curiosity, but especially the absolute desire to partecipate and be there in any case, more then the pasison for the winter sports themself. Figure skating apart, as a matter of fact the winter sports are considered a bit "exclusive", not only for the high prices of the equipments in general, but also for the difficult rules and scoring procedure of the matches themself.
But the city prepared two months of theatre shows, concerts, temporary expos and magic literary diners to satisfy those thirsty of culture people not very interested in the Olympics.
The themes go from Ice and Snow (the ssnow show in Sestriere, the exhibition Inuit - Popoli del Ghiaccio, the show Il colore bianco at Parco della Tesoreria) to the classic icons of heroes and athlets and the stories and montain recipes (th efive literary diners promoted by Grinzane-Cavour).
You won't miss famous international artists with extraordinary exhibitions: I point out the concert of the excellent composer Arvo Part per la Sindone, international premiere, the theatre shows of Progetto Domani of Luca Ronconi, and the return of The Bohème at the Teatro Regio of Turin.
A real Cultural Olympic we can say, wich honours the city and the provincia of Turin and the entire team that worked passionally to plan the events.

Here you can find the detailed schedule: Cultural Olimpiad.
